Oregon Coast Elopement at Cape Kiwanda: Joel & Andie

Joel and Andie were going to have a normal wedding. They had their venue set, their photographer, date, food, everything. They were making the plans, and then they changed it. They decided it may be a lot more fun (and cheaper!) to get married out on the Oregon coast instead of doing the traditional thing here in Spokane. So they called me and pitched the idea. It was one of the easiest things I've said yes to in a long time. Traveling to the coast? Yes please! It's beautiful out there, and the idea of finding an awesome spot and taking photos sounded like a blast.

So Saturday morning my assistant and I showed up at the makeup studio where Andie was getting ready and we started telling the story. We went to the Hoit Arboretum in Portland for the reveal (which was incredible, and caused my assistant to cry), and then the four of us drove out to the coast, stopping at various beautiful spots - because why wouldn't we? The whole day was a blast, as we explored the coast and ended at Cape Kiwanda for their ceremony, which took a whole three minutes. The rest of the time was devoted to putting Joel and Andie as close to a beautiful spot as we could and trying to capture the location in a way that would do it justice. We loved spending time with them. They were fun, and candid, and so easy to talk to. Once the whole day was done we all got some food together and hung out. They are some amazing people, and being able to capture their wedding was a highlight for me.
