Spokane Family Photographer Brent Looyenga's photo of the Forrester family in a field with snow and trees.

Family Photography: The Forrester Family

I've known the Forrester's for a long time. I remember when their three beautiful daughters were babies. So when they asked me to take some family photos for them I was pumped. We have never really been friends (I've known them, but I've never had the opportunity to really get to know them) so it was an awesome opportunity to get to know these people my parents have known for a very long time. Get to know their daughters and what they like, and just see them all interact. There is a quality there, among this beautiful family, that I found very attractive - they were fun, smart and relatable. What a privilege it was to be a part of it.

Headshots: Beyond Bones Chiropractic

It was a little less than a year ago - I had gone snowboarding with my incredible wife, and in the process hurt my neck. It was bad enough that I couldn't look one way or the other, and I was in a lot of pain, all the time. Now, I had never been to a chiropractor, so I did what I always do when things hurt, I just waited.

Bride and groom getting engagement photos by a frozen bay off of Spokane River

Coeur d'Alene Engagement: Chris & Sydney

Chris and Sydney are both climbers. Both very good climbers in fact. So there was a point when one of her friends asked her to mark out a path for the other climbers (I forget what it's called, but basically Sydney would climb the route and mark the hand holds for those who come after her). This was something Chris did all the time, so he came over and asked her if she needed any help.

Bride and groom inside the Historic Davenport hotel, downtown Spokane, in the lobby with Christmas lights and trees around them.

Historic Davenport Spokane Wedding: Randal & Rebecca

Randal and Rebecca had a beautiful wedding downtown Spokane at the Historic Davenport Hotel. They had many friend and family there, and their Jewish ceremony was filled with culture and unique moments that I loved every moment of it. It's not very often I get to yell "Mazel tov!!" as a groom smashes a glass on the ground.

Spokane couple walking on the street looking at each other downtown Spokane?

Downtown Spokane Engagement: Randall & Rebecca

They met on an app called "J-swipe". From what I understand, it's a lot like Tinder with a different focus. But what the app is, isn't really the point. The point is that Randal was going through and when he saw Rebecca, he swiped right, as did Rebecca. They got matched. I asked Randal what he did to break the ice, and he told me that he sent a quick message talking about how he wine, and how he also liked it - apparently Rebecca's photo had her holding a glass of wine.
