Settlers Creek Wedding: Jake & Mariah

Jake and Mariah are amazing people. And it's really not a surprise, once you meet their family it becomes clear - it's a family thing. Both families are a lot of fun to talk to and be around. This isn't the first time I've seen Jakes family, as I shot his sisters wedding a couple years ago, but it was the first time I met Mariah's family.

Spokane Engagement: Aaron & Mattie

They met at youth camp - both of them were volunteers on the same team. The first thing Mattie said to Aaron was that he had terrible, ugly shoes - or something like that. I asked what her motivation behind that was, if she was trying to get his attention, if she thought he was cute or something like that. She said it was none of those things, his shoes were just that bad. Aaron on the other hand thought she was "hot" - so he decided to see what he could do about it.

Hayden Lake Country Club Wedding: Jake & Nicole

First thing you should do is go watch their Photo Story. I love them, and I can't wait for you to see this one.

There are times during weddings that I sit back and go "this is awesome." It doesn't happen every time - sometimes things go too fast, but this time I did. I remember watching Jake and Nicole dancing - the sunset lighting the mountains and the lake behind them, thinking, "This. Is. Awesome." I thought the same thing as I was listening to their reveal. Watching them react while I heard the emotion in Jakes voice when he said "wow". It. Was. Awesome.
