Spokane Wedding: Will & Lisa

It’s Thanksgiving and I’m pumped to be posting one of my favorite weddings of the year. Will and Lisa got together in one of the coolest, craziest, up-and-down ways I’ve ever heard, and I couldn’t stop laughing when they told me about it. If you haven’t done so, you should definitely read about their story. But let’s talk about their wedding day. In the morning we were at Modern Apothecary for some amazing makeup and then Salon Illuminate for hair (using a very nifty sewing technique). However the real fun began when we arrived at the Rose Garden in Manito Park.

Coeur d'Alene Portrait: Becca & Velvet

Bonus Blog Monday gives me the opportunity to talk about my old old friend Becca and her dog, Velvet. When I saw Becca this summer while taking photos at Yer and Kia’s wedding, I was pumped. I hadn’t seen her in almost a decade. So how can Becca, someone I haven’t seen in so long, be an old friend? Well, she was one of my favorite people from 7th grade through my sophomore year of high school. She was one of those people who was so easy to get along with, so easy to talk to, and never seemed to whine or complain. Literally every memory I have of our friendship in the past is good. So when she contacted me several weeks ago to take some photos of her dog, I was excited — but sad at the same time.

Coeur d'Alene Engagement: Bryce & Chelsey

I absolutely love Chesley and Bryce. We had so much fun on our field/farm/country romp engagement photo shoot, and I think it shows. These two are beautiful, smart, and certainly in love. I can’t wait for their wedding at Schweitzer Mountain this summer, July 31.

When I met Jody for the first time, I remember her telling me about one thing I knew would be completely unique to her wedding. That is, there would be a cake on every table at the reception. These weren’t small, trivial cakes — rather, they would each be custom made to fit their wedding theme and colors by Pastry and More (my wife’s favorite local bakery). I’d never heard of such a thing, but I knew I couldn’t wait to see! It turns out, their whole day was beautiful, from the amazing decorations Rust, Dust, Frills & Lace put together, to the White House, to the very couple we were celebrating — I couldn’t ask for more.

It’s not very often I photograph a wedding that has even 250 people attending. In fact, most venues don’t even allow for that many people. But when it comes to Ben and Leanne, 250 wasn’t quite enough. They’re just that awesome. It’s easy to say, but even easier to see — as you witness how they interact, laugh, and smile, it becomes obvious that these two are special.
