Coeur d’Alene Engagement: Tim & Kelsy

It's been a long week for me, i've been sick. I've been traveling, and i've been working very hard. So it's a good thing i love my job, and in this case, i get to share Tim and Kelsy's engagement photos and video. I've known Tim a long time. I used to go to party's at his house. We've played hoopfest together. I've watched him finish Ironman. So when i went over to his house to watch the Seahawks demolish the Bronco's in the Superbowl several months ago and he hinted that he might be getting married, i was pumped. I knew he had other friends that were extremely great photographers as well, so i didn't have my hopes up, but it was exciting in it's own right. When i met him I was single, as were all of our friends. Now we are almost all married, our lives are moving on. And the greatest part of it all, they've asked me to capture that.

I'm currently down in Los Angeles to photograph a wedding for Shannon and Eimer, but I couldn't help but go out and see some sights while down here. I've said time and time again, one of the best things you can do to become a great photographer is to take a ton of photographs. Take pictures of everything, learn your camera, learn lighting and just as importantly, shadows. I haven't had a ton of time to do that lately, so i was pumped to head to Santa Monica Pier and take some pictures, just because.

I realize this is two blogs in a row featuring my son Isaiah, but i thought in the spirit of things it wouldn't hurt. It was mothers day last Sunday, after all. It's pretty cool to see my son hang out with his Mom. They get along so well, and she is so good at making him laugh it sometimes makes me jealous. While there is no doubt he loves me, you can tell he has some amazing feelings toward his mother.

My son, Isaiah, turns two this month. Unfortunately for myself i'll be shooting a wedding in Los Angeles on that day, so we're celebrating about a week earlier. This got me thinking, as we prepare our invites and so forth, how much he's grown up in the last year. His hair is no longer long and curly, he isn't nearly as chubby, he's way better at running, he can talk, communicate, and he definitely knows what we are asking him to do (whether he does it is a completely different story).

My second trip to Portland this year was a busy one. But it was for a good reason, Corey & Deanna's wedding! Everything was beautiful at their wedding, the venue, the people, the bride. Check out the photos after the break. :)
