Sunny Winter Engagement with John and Kelly

They met at work. In fact, John trained Kelly when she first started working there. At the time, she got his attention right away, and not just because she was beautiful - but because she was "intimidating". He told me that she seems to have a strength with her he didn’t' see very often, an intelligence, and a peace about her. Kelly, for her part also vividly remembers meeting John, and she told me that he was a "rare gentleman". So one thing is clear, from the beginning, these two stood out to each other. The problem John initially had was that they never worked together, always passing each other in the hall, but he never really got to talk to her again.

Romantic Historic Davenport Engagement in Spokane with Boone and Asti

If we're getting technical, Boone and Asti first met in Andy's office (shout out to Margeaux and Andy!). Asti thought Boone was "likely a law clerk" and was "way younger than her" and so she gave him her card, and offered to help introduce him around. Boone told me that he didn't even realize that happened, and all he was really focused on was how pretty she was. The reason I say this is "technically" the first time they met is because Boone doesn't really remember it. He remembers the second time, when they went to a hockey game together with some mutual friends. While there they talked and hit it off, but while Boone was very interested, he found out that Asti had a boyfriend. And so as she became more and more part of their friend group, it was always something he was interested in, but couldn't do anything about.

Wedding in Greenbluff with Garrett & Alyssa at The Ridge at Greenbluff

Garrett and Alyssa’s wedding was a wedding I was looking forward to since I found out I was going to be there. They are special in so many ways, but for me, they are unique in that i’ve seen them at other weddings and they’ve been in more weddings i’ve done than almost any other couple. I think we counted and their wedding would be the fifth or sixth wedding we were a part of together. We’ve had smokey weddings on the lake, beautiful weddings on the farm, and for their wedding, and incredible fall day up in Greenbluff. This wedding was filled with people I love, from over four previous brides and a bridal party that was down for anything. This was a wedding I had a lot of fun at from the minute people showed up (or even before, as the people at the Ridge are of the highest quality). So being able to share these photos with you is a huge privilege for me, and i’m so excited to do it! I hope you love them!

Nora at Coeur d'Alene Beach in the Fall

I can’t decide if this was the third or fourth time i’ve had the chance to photograph Nora, but each and every time has been a blessing. The things i’m seeing now as she has gotten older (almost 11!) is the women peeking out from inside. She has a mix of playful girl and spunky teenager in her and it’s a lot of fun to see both. Here are some photos from our recent shoot together, showing off a little of both sides.

Misty Morning Family Shoot with the Raymond-Becker Family

I worked with Shannon for months trying to get the details surrounding this shoot ironed out. Things were always changing, but in the end, on a misty (and at one point, very very rainy) morning, I was able to be there when the Raymond-Becker family was reunited again. The emotions were high, joy was clear, and it was such a fun family shoot to be a part of. I truly enjoyed meeting them, even for the small period of time I had the chance to speak with them. I’m excited to share some of my favorites from our shoot.

Jonah and Liz's Fall Backyard Wedding

So Jonah and Liz hold a special place in my heart, because not only did I get to do their engagement photos, but I also had the chance to spend a bunch of days on the Salmon River with them and my family. It was an experience I will never forget, and something I will revisit again and again. So taking those experiences, fighting through rapids, jumping (or falling) off the boat, eating on the beach, and sleeping in the white sands with these two amazing people, and then being able to be there at their wedding was something I absolutely loved. They are kind, thoughtful, and so quick to smile - at a wedding or covered in dirt on the side of a river. Here are some of my favorites from their fall wedding.
