CDA Photographers: Jonah & Liz's Tubbs Hill Engagement

They met in the year 2020. This means they weren't working, as it was March of 2020. In their case, Liz had some friends who were roommates with Jonah, so when the lockdowns started to happen she went over to his house as they were going to isolate together. Jonah's first impression of Liz was how pretty she looked - Liz's first memory of Jonah was that the had made his own gluten free beer, and it wasn't very good. Nothing says a future wedding like bad beer I guess!

In short, Jonah and Liz became friends. Over the next couple months they would talk, ride bikes, and hang out together as a group. Jonah was interested in Liz almost from the start, and so after about a month of flirting, he decided he would ask her out.

Liz wasn't interested.

I asked her what was up, and she said she "just hadn't' thought of him that way" and she "didn't want to ruin the friendship" - all very good reasons. So I asked her if she began to see her interest pique after he had asked her, as she now knew he was interested.

She said no.

So after about another month of them hanging out Jonah would try again, to which Liz would tell him no. This was surprising to me, as at this point they were good friends, and she knew he liked her. It just seemed like the natural progression of the story. But the thing that really changed it all was Jonah leaving. Yeah.

So their friends were going to have an outdoor movie night (yeah, Jonah and Liz are cool people) but Jonah couldn't stay for the movie as he had made a commitment to hang out with another friend. The thing is, when he left, Liz realized she missed him. She realized that she wanted him there. She realized that she did, in fact, like him. So when Jonah came back (toward the end of the movie) she waived him over and they sat next to each other (closely). And once the movie wound down, and the credits rolled, with friends asleep around them, or in the house cleaning, Jonah and Liz were just sitting in each other's company. It was at this moment, they would kiss.

What a cool moment - and story. A moment that would eventually change their lives forever, because now they're getting married! I'm so excited to be a part of it, with such quality humans, I'm excited that I get the chance to be there to capture their amazing day. That said, here are their engagement photos, and I hope you love them as much as I loved taking them!
