Fall Engagement Shoot at Round Lake with Chris & Ashley

They met online - as so many people do these days - on Hinge, to be exact. I asked what the difference was between Hinge and Bumble, or Tinder, and basically it is a little less about hookup culture and more about looking for actual, serious relationships. In this case, exactly what both Chris and Ashley were looking for.

It all started with a swipe, in both of their cases, they swiped right on each other. Chris, because he really loved how Ashley looked, and Ashley, because she loved Chris' smile. Regardless, they started to talk, and would do so for about a week. Chris was really hoping to meet her soon.

Then Ashley ghosted him.

If you don't know what that means, it means that Ashley stopped replying to him - just never said anything. She figured he was too far away (several hours) and that it wasn't a good time to start something - and she was possibly right. But then, three months later they would match again on Hinge. This time it was Ashley who would message first, and Chris (upon seeing the messages) would think "Okay, I'll give this a shot again". So they would chat, and eventually they would meet up and go on a date (dog park first, then dinner). It's not much of a mystery as to how that date went, considering where we are today. These two were so great, I loved getting to know them, listening to their story, watching them laugh and spend time with each other. Their wedding is absolutely going to be awesome, and I'm so excited to be the one who gets to capture it!
