What's weird about Dom and Reagan is that they met in person. Yeah, you heard me right, in the flesh and blood. They both had very positive first experiences of each other, but Dom being in a relationship at the time meant these two became work friends and no more. This stayed true for months, and while they would hang out with others, work friends was where it stayed. That said, Reagan couldn't help but notice who Dom was, and so when he called her one day and told her he broke up with his girlfriend (they were on their way with friends to go on a trip) Reagan would tell him how sorry she was - then dance a little jig of happiness after they hung up.
Read MoreI saw this all the time, it’s really hard to look happy in the rain. It’s cold. It’s wet - very wet (by definition). It messes up your hair, makes your clothes uncomfortable, and makes existing hard. So when I got to Will and Jordan’s wedding in Mid-Ocotober, I was wondering how the potential for rain would affect the day. While we got very lucky and it held off for most of the portraits, it really started raining on us in the middle of the ceremony. People had umbrellas, yes, but Jordan went without. As the rain fell, and things got more and more wet something struck me - these two seemed to be able to kill it in any situation. They never ceased being kind, never ceased having fun, and were ready for anything. And it shows! I absolutely love how these photos turned out. An amazing couple, group, location, everything came together for an awesome and beautiful wedding that I had a blast being a part of. Here are some of my favorites from the day.
Read MoreThey met when they were younger, because Annie is Kevin's friends little sister. For years, that's exactly how she was viewed as well - Alex's little sister. That said, it didn't actually stop Kevin from hitting on her now and then, but because she was in a relationship she didn't acknowledge it one way or the other. He was her brothers friend, after all.
Read MoreFernando and Jaimey are two people with magnetic personalities. They are easy to like, quick to laugh, and have great friends. Look no further than these photos, where their smiles light up a room, and they are clearly having such a great time. But it extends beyond that, to how they treat you when things aren’t looking, maybe it’s making sure you have food, or even pouring you a small bit of Blanton’s Whiskey just like everyone else. I never once felt like “a vendor” but more like a friend. Such a beautiful wedding, with fall colors, smoke, and a lot of personality.
Read MoreWords can’t really sum up what I want to put into this blog. If you’ve had me photograph your wedding, there is a high chance you’ve met one part of this family (aka, Brent Billings). You would know he’s easy to talk to, kind, thoughtful, and considerate. You would know he’s smart, and has your best interest at heart. What you wouldn’t know immediately is that he has an incredible wife, and two beautiful and energetic boys. Not to mention a puppy (Maple) that has maybe more energy than she knows what to do with. The thing is, photos can capture only a small portion of who this family is and what they represent to me. But being able to share them here is such a privilege. I hope you love them!
Read MoreI’m not actually not sure how long it has been since I met Julie and Doug for the first time. But I do remember the shoot, in Manito park as they announced their pregnancy for their first child, Rosalie. I remember the fall colors, their dogs (their only “children” at the time, and how kind and easy to get along with they were. Over the years I've had a huge privilege of watching their family grow, in good and bad times, and being able to capture the smiles and memories that come along with it. So adding another year to that history isn’t just a small thing, it becomes bigger and bigger each year they ask me. And I love the fact I get to share these photos here first. I hope you love them!
