Megan and Nik's English Point Engagement

Like so many modern love stories, Megan and Nik’s journey began on Hinge. If you aren't familiar with the app, it’s a bit different than the standard "swipe right" culture—you actually have to engage with a person’s profile to connect. In this case, Nik had mentioned that he once backpacked through Europe alone.

Shavonne and Tom's Winter Engagement

They met at a friends birthday party - yes, that means it was in real life! While the friend was mutual, they did not know each other. Shavonne, who had not really had a boyfriend at that point, nor did she know how to dance (although she says she knew, she just never had danced with someone else yet), was asked to dance by one of the cute guys at the party (aka, Tom). This wasn't a high school two-step situation. They were swing dancing! So Tom swung the "cute girl" around for most of the night, but at the end he left.

Zarah and Peyton's Winter Engagement

They technically met on Hinge first. The more "serious" version of Tinder. That said, they messaged each other twice or so, and that was it. A couple weeks later, however, they would match again, but on the Facebook Dating app. This is what did it - how weird to match twice?! So they would start to talk and quickly plan their first date.

Eden and Dillon's Engagement in Coeur d'Alene

They met in high school. While Eden and Dilon are roughly the same age, they were one grade apart. Having similar friends, Dillon and Eden first started talking on Snap Chat. Dillon was filled with confidence (being that it was his birthday) and so he immediately asked Eden out on a date (for two days later) and then followed it up with an unorthodox move - he added her as a friend in the Bible app as well.

Jeremy and Luna's Christmas Engagement in Coeur d'Alene

The first time they met was when Luna moved in next door. At first, neither one of them thought the other was interested - at all. They started to hang out, but it was mostly games, or shows, but again, almost zero interest. Luna decided she liked Jeremy - that is, thought he'd be fun to hang out with - when he came over to her place to help her move some furnature. She told me that she thought he was pretty spunky, in that when she told him where she wanted the couch he responded with something like "you're going to put it THERE". He wasn't afraid to be himself, and to joke around with her in his own way.

Kody and Stephanie's Rainy Day Engagement

They met on E-Harmony. It isn't really unusual someone would meet online (it's probably 90% of my couples meet online) But E-Harmony isn't the most common way. The interesting thing about this method over something like Tinder is that it asks you a lot of questions about you and who you are, and then "matches" you with people that are the most compatible. For Kody and Stephanie, in our area, there wasn't a ton of people.
