Chance and Lily's Beautiful Overcast Engagement in Coeur d'Alene
They met around 7th grade. According to Lily he was the "guy that knew everyone" He played sports, was kind, and just generally got along with everyone in his class. I asked Chance if he noticed Lily to which I got a little chuckle from both of them. Because Lily didn't really get to know Chance right away, rather, she was friends with his friends. So by nature, she was around, but they never really hung out, they were never really all that close.
That said, as high school came around they were in each others worlds more - even sharing some classes - but they still weren't really friends. That said, one day Chance was skipping class, and Lily decided she would call him and inform him that skipping was not ok. So she got his number from her friend Riley and gave him a call. It was this call, that really made Chance notice her for the first time - like REALLY notice her. It was after this they would start to talk more, and think of each other more as friends.
The real change for Chance though was one day Lily came to one of his games (I can't remember if it was football, soccer, or basketball) and she made a big sign to cheer him on. There was something about that sign, and something about her being there, that triggered something in Chance. It was in this moment that he realized - he liked her. They even got a photo after the game in front of the sign.
They would date through high school, and realize after only a small period of time in college that they didn't in fact, want to do life without each other. But it was at Chances graduation party when Lily would realize this was more than just a high school thing. She was sitting there and his uncle came up to her and said something along the lines of "you're part of the family" - and it was here, that she realized she could end up marrying this guy. And they are! In fact, by the time you've read this they've already had the whole shabang, and are married! I'm just happy I had the chance to get to know them more before the big day, and get some awesome photos of them.
