Coeur d'Alene Engagement: Max & Sam
Sometimes mutual friends can be a little devious. They can make plans behind your back - because they love you. And that's exactly how Max and Sam met. You see, Sam was having a birthday party (which her birthday almost always coincides with opening day of the NFL) and so she had invited a bunch of friends out to watch the game with her. Some of Sam's friends came, and they brought someone she did not know - Max. Now, Max told me that when he first say her his first impression was something along the lines of "dang!" - she is quite attractive. Sam, however, told me she barely noticed him, he was just hanging out. But as the night went on, Sam started to notice that Max would end up in her conversations (not in a weird way) quite often, with little bits of input, a quick quip, or something more. She started to notice him, and so she asked her friends "who is this guy"? But she didn't really know he was interested in her until the end of the night when he asked her for her number.
She gave it to him.
The next day Max would text her and they would setup a date - in 3 weeks. Yeah, Sam was leaving town, so that was the soonest they could make it happen. But when they did, it went very well (clearly)! Sam didn't want to leave after 10 minutes, and conversation flowed well. It was a great date. I asked Max if he knew the time he realized that Sam might have been the one, and he looked at me and said "definitely" (or something close to that). He told me it was about a month in, they were hanging out at a friends house on Thanksgiving, and he said he just knew. For Sam, it was a different day, but the circumstances were a little "louder" - because it was when they did an Emo concert sing-along thing. Basically they were all on stage singing their hearts out to early 2000's emo bands and it was in this moment of guttural musical beauty that Sam would think "this guy… might be the one"
And the thing is, they were right! These two are getting married and I am SO excited to be there on their wedding day, capturing the moments, the people, the love of these two. It will be awesome!
