Megan and Nik's English Point Engagement
From a Hinge Prompt to "I Do"
Like so many modern love stories, Megan and Nik’s journey began on Hinge. If you aren't familiar with the app, it’s a bit different than the standard "swipe right" culture—you actually have to engage with a person’s profile to connect. In this case, Nik had mentioned that he once backpacked through Europe alone.
Megan spent about a week overthinking how to start that conversation. Finally, she decided to just go for it. Her opening gambit? A simple, nervous, one-word comment: "Cool."
It turns out that "cool" was exactly enough.
The First Date and Beyond
Nik was surprised and thrilled to see her reach out, and they hit it off immediately. Two weeks later, they met up at Iron Horse for drinks and live music, followed by a live painting event. The connection was instant. They were back out on a second date just a couple of days later, and they haven't looked back since.
That was over five years ago. Since then, they’ve become best friends, navigated life together, and now, they’re officially ready to get married!
Capturing the Moment at English Point
I’m so pumped they chose me to capture this chapter of their story. We headed out to English Point for their engagement session—a spot that holds a lot of weight for them, as it’s the exact place where Nik proposed. There’s something special about doing photos in a location that already has so much history for a couple, and the light that day did not disappoint.
