Nick and Kirsten's Kendal Yards Engagement

They met online - which shouldn't be surprising at this point. In their case, they "matched" two times in the past, but Nick thought Kirsten was "too young" for him (she's only 3 years younger than him), so they never really talked. But when they matched for the third time, Nick messaged her and said something along the lines of "third time means we better get married!" Which didn't concern Kirsten at all. In fact, she was excited to meet Nick.

She had heard good things about him in the past (they never met, but she knew people that knew him), and even though she was coming off a 12-hour shift at the hospital, they met for some drinks at a beautiful place downtown Spokane in Kendall Yards. To say the short date went well is an understatement. No kiss, no hand holding, just a quick two-drink date and a goodbye. Kirsten would record a video message to one of her friends after getting in the car that went something like this: “If I don't marry this man, I'm going to be so disappointed" - yeah, after the first date.

Before Kirsten was even home, Nick had texted her to see if she wanted to come over the next day - he would cook a meal (Stuffed peppers, if you must know). Nick broke all the "bro rules" in this case, and Kirsten was all about it. It was refreshing to see a guy like her and show it. So she came over.

To say they hit it off is a bit of an understatement. Things went so well, and Kirsten was watching Nick's cat while he was away after the second date, and it would be less than a month for him to officially ask her to be together. Now, they are getting married, and so fun to talk to, hang out with, and oh so photogenic. I cannot wait for their wedding next October.
