North Idaho Engagement: Mathew and Alexis
They met on Tinder - as so many couples do these days - and set up a date. Matt talks a lot about what it means for two introverts to go on a date - or even find each other - and this whole situation worked out best for them. Alexis said at one point that she "couldn't imagine" trying to find someone another way.
Either way, these two both swiped right, and the date was set (one week out though, because Alexis was getting over a cold). When Alexis arrived at One Tree Cider House in Spokane, Matt was already there. I asked Matt what he thought when she walked through the door and he, after remembering all the details about her that night - from what she wore to how she stood - mentioned how beautiful she was. Alexis, for her part, remembers Matt's smile when he looked at her. They talked, things went very well - and then one of them went out of town.
It would be almost 2 weeks before they could go on another date, and Alexis was even more nervous. Because while Matt was driving along the Oregon coast taking pictures, he was sending post cards back to Alexis on the road (legit, old school postcards). He said he "didn't want her to forget me". Either way, Alexis loved it, and so when the second date came around she told me she was even more nervous - she didn't want to mess it up.
The date went super well, and it was only a couple months in, while watching a bird movie Matt would start to think "I think I could marry this woman" - which is pretty amazing. I'm so very excited to be a part of this couples story, to be able to be there to celebrate their engagement, and their wedding. It will be awesome.
