Shelley and Jake's Jewett House Wedding

Jake and Shelley are two people I have really enjoyed getting to know. From our meeting outside at Bakery by the Lake, to being able to listen to their vows early in the morning on their wedding day by the lake (also where they met) has been such a privilege and something I have loved about them. Being able to share these photos, these memories with you is something I'm super excited about, and I hope you love them!

Long before their wedding day, I got to spend an evening with them downtown for their engagement session in Coeur d'Alene - wandering the same streets and shoreline that mean so much to their story. There's something special about photographing a couple in the place where it all started for them, and getting to do that with Shelley and Jake made it clear early on just how easy these two are to be around.

Their wedding day itself started quietly, long before most of their guests were even awake. Standing with Jake and Shelley by the lake in the early morning light while they exchanged their private vows - in the very spot where they first met - is one of those moments I feel lucky to get to witness in this job. From there, the day picked up quickly: Shelley got ready at her house while Jake got ready across town, and by early afternoon we were doing a first look before heading into bridal party photos. The ceremony took place that evening at the Jewett House, right on Lake Coeur d'Alene, followed by dinner, speeches, and dancing that carried on well past sunset.

Getting to be there for both ends of their day - the quiet, just-the-two-of-them moment by the water in the morning, and the full celebration with everyone they love that evening - is exactly why I love what I do. Thank you both for trusting me with all of it. I hope you love reliving it as much as I loved being there.
