Skyler and Sarah's Engagement Photos on Tubbs Hill
They met online - they both swiped right. The biggest problem with the whole thing though wasn't that they matched, but that Skyler was in Pakistan when it happened - yeah. So what that meant is they had to talk, and talk they did! First it was over the app, but then quickly moved to Snapchat and then to WhatsApp. They would start doing video calls "every once in a while" and would generally get to know each other.
After about 5 months, Skyler would finally get the chance to fly home and they met, in the airport, for the first time. Now, meeting in the airport isn't actually all that weird, what was a little different was that they had made plans to go on a week-long trip to Banff, Canada right after that. They went from never meeting, to being with each other 24/7 for a week straight.
Now I asked how the road trip went, and the answer wasn't what I expected. Skyler said:
“It was pretty quiet."
I asked why, and Sarah basically said she never really talks on road trips, and so she never thought much of it. But credit to them, they talked about it, and the trip home was more lively. To say the trip went well would be a very accurate one, they had a great time, and it didn't take them very long (around 8 months) for Sarah to ask Skyler to get on with asking her to marry him.
Skyler would jump right on it, getting permission (he was overseas) the same day, and wouldn't be too long until they finally got engaged "for real" (ring and all). Now they are getting married! Very soon, in fact! I am so excited to be there for their wedding, and absolutely loved getting to know them more during their engagement shoot.
