Coeur d'Alene Photographers: Aimee & Tina's Engagement

Photographing engagements is always fun because I get the chance to get to know a couple, get to know who they are, and what makes them “them”. Aimee and Tina met at Starbucks when Tina had moved out to Seattle to pursue job opportunities. Tina went right up to Aimee and said "let's be friends" - so they were. Over the course of months they became good friends, hanging out, drinking beer, talking and doing things friends do. Aimee told me that it was about 6 months in that she began to realize she was attracted to Tina. I asked her if she pursued her, or not, and she looked at me like "well, I did, but I didn't" if that makes any sense. I think what should be understood here is that Aimee was interested, but she wasn't going to try and force anything.

It would all come down to a day when Aimee was helping Tina move. They laughed together as they told the story of how Tina was yelling at Aimee to get the furniture inside. It was in this candid, friendly moment that Tina would realize that she had feelings for Aimee, that there may be something there, something more.

They would share their first kiss a couple weeks later - a kiss that left Aimee speechless. Now, after several jobs, long distance, and several years, these two amazing people have decided to get married. It's going to be beautiful, and I can't wait to be there.
