Matt and Kelly's Sunny November Engagement

Matt and Kelly met in person. IRL is how some say it these days. Back then, they were with a friend helping make an event happen, and since both are involved in their community, they ended up running into each other. They would then happen to meet again just a little bit later at No-Li Brewery. This second meeting was a big deal, because it was when Matt really started to notice Kelly - that is to say, he tried to hit on her. She was kind, super easy to talk to, and a lot of fun (plus she gave him and his friends a couple cups for free).

Because of this interaction Matt found Kelly on LinkedIn and asked her if she wanted to go get some drinks so he could "hear how her community work was going". Turn out, they had a great time, but when Matt texted her after - she ghosted him.

Kelly says she thinks she read it, but was too busy to reply but then forgot. Either way, these two didn't talk again for about 8 months. In that time they would both start - and end - a relationship. All the way up to almost exactly a year after they first met - they would meet again. At this time Matt figured he'd tried - and Kelly wasn't interested. At the same time, Kelly WAS interested, but didn't want to "make the first move" - yeah, not a good place to be in.

In the end, they would talk and Kelly would drop the ever so important "maybe we should talk about this later - you have my number" to which Matt caught on right away. That said, he would still take "forever" to text her - a full week.

That said, once they texted, they went out on a date - which went extraordinarily well. And before they even wen ton that first date Matt secured a second (a Kevin Heart concert with a group of friends). He was all-in. And it worked out. They had a blast together, It would only be about a month in when Matt (and Kelly) would start to realize - this person was awesome. And Marriage would start to be on their minds. One year + a day later - they would be engaged.

Now they are getting married! And I have the huge privilege of being there for their wedding! SO excited for them. It's going to be absolutely beautiful.
