Spokane Photographers: Chris & Lea's Engagement Photos
Chris and Lea are two people I highly enjoyed. Quick to laugh and smile, game for almost anything, and so easy to have fun with. This was made apparent to me over and over again during their engagement photos, and one of those ways was just listening to how they met. Like so many couples these days, they both swiped right. For those of you that don't know what that means, it means they met on Tinder. In reality, Lea didn't actually* swipe right, her sister did that for her.
Yeah, so really, we can blame this all on her sister.
Lea told me that her sister thought "Chris looked like a guy she would like" and when it turned out they matched, Lea saw his photo and was like "oh, he looks nice!" and the rest is history. The thing is, I don’t' want to leave that story there, because there are some pretty amazing details in there that bring so much spice to this incredible couple.
You see, they both matched each other in early 2020, right before COVID because a real thing (think mid to late February). So when Chris saw that he matched with Lea, he decided to try out one of the new cheesy-pickup lines he had recently learned. So his first message to her was "If Rona doesn't take you out, can I?" - which I find hilarious - as did Lea.
So yes, if you're wondering, cheesy pickup lines DO work. My younger self would have loved to know that.
Anyway, they started chatting in app, and then talking on the phone an doing zoom calls (as so many did in early 2020). They did this for three months before they finally met in person. But when they did meet, they met at a beautiful park in Washington called the Bowl and Pitcher (the park we took these very photos in, in fact). There they people watched, Chris became part of a very exclusive club, and they had a genuinely good time. This was followed up by some food at Lea's house (roommate in tow) and then a house party with all of Lea's friends.
In short, Chris was throne into the grinder, and he came out of it looking pretty darn good. He handled her friends, he had a great time in a completely unique social situation, and Lea came out of it liking him even more. Chris would ask her to be his official girlfriend that night (at the end of the first date) and Lea gave an amazing answer:
"I'll have to think about it".
Yeah, not what I expected either. That said, it only took a couple days and she would call him and tell him "let's do this" and they would decide on a relationship. That relationship has obviously grown, these two are so clearly in love, and I can not WAIT to be a part of their wedding this summer. It's going to be beautiful. Until then, here are some of their engagement photos at a place that means so much to them, a place where it all started.
