Spokane Wedding Photographer: Garrett & Alyssa’s North Idaho Engagement
Garrett and Alyssa, two people I have seen at more weddings than almost any other couple. I think Alyssa has either been in or attended five different weddings I’ve photographed. That’s amazing. I’ve taken their pictures at multiple weddings, so as Garrett put it at the end of our engagement session “it’s about time it’s our turn!” I couldn’t agree more. It’s so cool how they met as well, from going to school with each other - although not really ever talking, to finally meeting (although not in person).
Yeah, so these two amazing people went to school together, but had different boyfriends and girlfriends. In both cases, they were aware the other existed, but neither of them ever really talked or hung out. Years would go by, and they would grow out of high school. One day, Garrett and Alyssa would match on Tinder. They wouldn’t talk long, and they knew they “knew” each other, but had never really talked. So they met for coffee.
Garrett came with a unique approach to that meeting, deciding not to care about anything. This left Alyssa’s first impression to be summed up nicely as she talked to her sister afterward "He was a douche, but I’ll probably end up marrying him.” Or, something like that. What seemed clear to me is that Garrett was simultaneously a gentleman and also a douche all at the same time (like I said, he was trying something new - and it worked!). Either way, they would hang out for about a week until they would really hit it off at the Halloween party. It didn’t take either of them long to realize that they liked each other more than a little, and their relationship grew quickly.
That was about five years ago, and over that time I’ve had the chance to meet them, talk with them, and meet their families. Now I have the chance to be there when they get married and I am SO pumped about that.
