Winter Engagement with Matt and Olivia

They met in elementary school. They weren't really friends, even though they went to a small school (think class sizes of 45, instead of 400). So they knew each other existed, but never talked. This was true until around Olivia's 7th grade year, when Matt started noticing her, and he decided to try and pursue her - something his cousin had been doing very unsuccessfully for a while. He would get her number, and they would start to talk. It wasn't a long time (but also notably, not a short time) before they would start to like each other.

Winter Coeur d'Alene Resort Wedding - Lucas and Kellee

There is something that should stand out to you as you look through these photographs. I know it stood out to me as I edited them. These two love to smile. They love to laugh. From the bridal party photos with their friends, to the ceremony when they shared their vows, to the portraits of both of them, they are smiling, laughing, and clearly in love. This is even more notable as we were dealing with winds of up to 45 miles per hour, heavy rain, and temperatures in the 30’s. Lucas and Kellee were cold out there, yes they shine through anyway. It’s absolutely beautiful and their warmth shines through on such a cold and dramatic day (weather wise). I’m so excited to share these with you, and I hope you love them as much as I loved taking them. What a beautiful wedding at the Coeur d’Alene Resort.

Coeur d'Alene Photographer: Tyler and Krystal's Tubbs Hill Sunset Engagement

They met in Jr. High - but weren't super close friends. They talked, hung out, but it wasn't like Tyler was calling up Krystal in the evening to see if she wanted to go hang out. They did, however, share the same friend group. It was this way all the way through high school, and once high school ended - so did their friendship. Well, kind of. Just like so often happens, after high school they just didn't see each other very much. This was true until they saw each other at a barn party one of their friends was throwing.

Photographers in CDA: The Hartzog Family photos in Dover Bay

It was more than eight years ago that I first met the Hartzog family as I was getting ready to shoot Waylon and Arionne’s wedding. Since then i’ve had the privilege of being there for many other family photos, and it’s such a privilege they think of me every time they come in town. This family is a fun one, quick to laugh, easy to joke with, and just great to talk to. So this particular photo shoot, at the top of a mountain looking over the river and mountains near Sandpoint was a lot of fun for me. Beautiful spot, great people - all I could hope for.
