Coeur d'Alene Engagement Photographer: Adam & Ashley's Sunset Mountaintop Engagement
They met in first grade. Now, I think it would be easy to build out a story around this fact, perhaps saying they were best friends all through school, talked all the time and eventually, sometime in high school these two amazing people decided they wanted to be together, and then, in college, decided they wanted to be together forever.
But that didn't happen.
Instead, they knew OF each other. They shared some classes, but they never hung out. Ashley was the "shy" one (by her own admission) and Adam was the popular, outgoing one. But at some point early on their senior year of high school their friend groups merged.
It didn't take long, but Adam because quite interested in Ashley. She, however, didn't want anything to do with him - at least, not in a dating way. She had plans to wait to date until she was in college, so even though he would sit with her at lunch, they would text and chat often, they would never date.
I asked her if she ever knew she liked him, and she said she was in "denial" that she did, in fact, like him for part of that year. It was accented by them going to senior prom together (she asked him), and having so much fun. But she still wouldn’t date him. In fact, they wouldn't date in high school at all. It took her going to college (and him going to one on a different side of the country) to get them together.
You see, when they started school, they skyped each other pretty much every single day (which sounds like a couple if you ask me!) and it only took two weeks of being apart before they decided to start dating officially. That was almost 10 years ago. Now, Adam and Ashley are getting married. This beautiful, fun, engaging could is saying they want to be together for the rest of their lives, and I get to capture it. I can't wait for their wedding this summer.
