Destination Engagement Photographer: Daniel & Janell
Daniel and Janell are clearly two amazing people. They are kind, easy to talk to, and game for anything. Look no further than these engagement photos (some of these places were NOT easy to get to). I had so much fun with both of them, so much so I didn't get to hear the full story of how they met because we were talking and joking about other things. I do know they met online, and that Daniel sent the first message (although he doesn't know what he said) and that it is through that one step of courage, that one step of "why not?" that this relationship was born. I also know that they don't love the same things.
Yeah, you read that right.
You see, Janell loves the outdoors, hikes and backpacking - and while Daniel doesn't mind those things, you wouldn't see him asking to go climb a mountain anytime soon. The thing is, relationships are so much more than those big "checkbox" things, and we often get so focused on what we like to do together, we forget that a person is so much more than checkbox's.
Daniel told me a story that really helps illustrate my point. One day (after they were together) Daniel and Janell were sitting on the couch just relaxing and playing some phone games when Daniel had an idea - each one of them had to hop on Amazon and buy the other person a gift, but it had to be under $10. About 15 minutes later they were done, and two days later they were sitting across from each other with some Amazon boxes in hand. When Daniel opened his box two things happened; one - he saw the amazing dinosaur socks that were purchased for him; and two - he had to look over at Janell's box to make sure he didn't open HIS gift to HER.
Because yeah, they both bought each other dinosaur socks.
They weren't the exact same pattern, or same company, but the fact they both bought the same thing shows an underlying love for the same things, even the same type of humor, that is so much more than some of those checkbox's one thinks of when picking a future husband or wife.
I'm so excited for these two, and I'm so excited that I get to be there when they get married! It's going to be a beautiful, fun, and awesome day.
