Eden and Dillon's Engagement in Coeur d'Alene
They met in high school. While Eden and Dilon are roughly the same age, they were one grade apart. Having similar friends, Dillon and Eden first started talking on Snap Chat. Dillon was filled with confidence (being that it was his birthday) and so he immediately asked Eden out on a date (for two days later) and then followed it up with an unorthodox move - he added her as a friend in the Bible app as well.
Eden said this was "intriguing" to her, as it wasn't something anyone else had done - and it helped show a similar value system. So the date that was set, became even more set, and when it finally happened it was pretty casual. They walked on Tubbs, and then went to Bakery by the Lake for some coffee. I asked how that went (which it clearly went really well) but what they told me was that it wasn't a simple first date.
You see, both of them weren't looking to "just have some fun in the summer" and in a lot of ways it was kind of like an interview. Do they have similar values? Do they want the same things? How many kids do each of them want? All the important questions - because why waste time dating if they don't align?
In the end, they did align, and they started dating. It was maybe a year or so later I would get the chance to meet Eden for the first time when I did Dillon's senior photos, and then about a year later I would get to be there when he asked her to marry him. Such an incredibly cool couple, and being able to get their engagement photos, and see their story develop even more has been absolutely huge. Pumped for these two.
