Farragut State Park Engagement: Kyan & Beth

They met at work. Kyan told me that when he first met Beth she was "really annoying" which I thought was hilarious. He said it didn't take long though (a couple of shifts) to realize that Beth wasn't "trying really hard" but rather she was "just that funny". A friendship would blossom. Beth, for her part, really liked Kyan from the very beginning. He was "cute" and "a really good guy". And while their friendship began to grow, Kyan and no clue that the feelings weren't matched on either side.

As time went on, they would start to do things as a group. Enter Scotchman's Peak. One of the hardest hikes in our area (in terms of vertical climb at least), Kyan, Beth and another friend decided that they were going to hike it. Beth chose to wear sandals (something that they made fun of her for, all the while she bragged about how awesome they were), and while she made to the top it was an experience. Kyan told me that Scotchman's was when he started to see Beth beyond "just a friend". He started to notice her smile, her beautiful eyes, the way she lights up a room (or a mountain?) when she enters it. Her light hearted attitude (even when she sprains her ankle on the way down… for example). It was up at the top of a mountain that Kyan would see Beth and be like "oh man, this girl is pretty amazing".

A couple weeks later they would go to a movie with some friends, except all their friends would cancel and it ended up being just them. They told me that they were both "secretly" hoping their friends would cancel so it could be just them. The movie turned into the moment where both of them realized that there could be a relationship there. It wasn't much longer (a couple weeks, if I remember correctly) and some super long nights of talking, and some very strategic stops by work that these two would kiss for the first time, and the rest would become history.

I remember being so pumped when Kyan and Beth booked me for their wedding. They truly are two people that are so easy to get along with, so easy to talk to. They are kind, and joyful, and being able to be at their wedding and capture them making a commitment to each other is such a blessing. I can't wait for it, and I can't wait to show you the photos when I do.
