Spokane Engagement Photos: Gabe & Mary
They met at a restaurant, where Mary was the server and Gabe was the patron. Gabe said the first thing he noticed was her eyes (which isn't surprising when you see Mary's eyes) but then the second thing he noticed was her name. You see, for the last 6 generations or so everyone in Gabe's family has married a Mary - and in that moment Gabe was looking at a kind, absolutely beautiful, woman with the name of Mary and he thought "why not? Crazier things have happened." - So he flirted. Mary, for her part remembers him being "really cute" but nothing crazy really happened that night. However, Mary happened to be a mutual friend of one of his friends so he found her on Facebook, added her and sent her a message. She was kind enough to reply, but "wasn't looking for a relationship at the time" so after a couple mssages she ghosted him (aka, stopped replying).
She would then do this 2 more times.
Yeah.
Gabe said he "got the message" but at the same time, he couldn't help but try again. But after the third time, he was done. Then, on a boring night in Seattle (Mary was going to a concert out there) Mary decided to "give the nice guy a chance" and texted HIM. Yeah. So they talked, all night, and the next day, and the day after that. And when she flew home they went on a date the next day.
Then Gabe almost ruined it all.
The date was going super well, they were both having a lot of fun, and Gabe was super interested. So he looked at Mary and said "want to be my girlfriend?" - or something like that - to which Mary was a little - shocked? She certainly felt like he was rushing things a bit. Gabe immediately noticed and backtracked (good man) and said he could wait. It was only a week later Mary would look at him and tell him that "he could ask her now".
This couple is incredible. They are so quick to smile and laugh, they are thoughtful and kind, and I had so much fun with them. They are going to have such an incredible wedding, and I can't wait to be there to share those moments with everyone.
