Spokane Wedding Photographer: Viktor and Rachel's Mountain Engagement
Viktor and Rachel met - really met - at church. Rachel was there and wanted to sit with her sister (if I remember the story correctly) but there was "some random guys" coat on the chair she wanted to sit on. So she sat there anyway. Viktor told me he was initially upset about the situation (some random person taking his seat) but when he saw who the chair thief was, and her beautiful smile, he was much more ok with it. This is the first time either of them really stuck out in each other's minds - although technically they also were both in the same wedding at some point earlier. But that's it, they didn't talk much at church, or after, and Viktor did a great job of playing it cool.
It would be a week or two later Rachel would get invited (for the second time) to Viktor's house for game night. It was her sister who would invite her (if I remember right) but the fact it was at Viktors house didn't really mean much to her - he wasn't on her radar yet. But for Viktor, he was very aware of Rachel and the fact she was coming over. And so began the balance of getting to know her without being overbearing. This involved talking about Skiing, and helping her out with a brake problem she was having with her car. From what I understand, it was all very well done, and Rachel got the impression that Viktor was (and is) a very kind person. The only time she got the hint that he may be interested was when he invited her to go dancing with the group after they left the house.
She told him no.
But in the end, it was actually a great thing. The dancing invite made it clear to Rachel that Viktor was actually interested, and she told me that knowing he was interested allowed her to put that question mark over his head. It changed the way she would think about their friendship, and it's possibilities. They would hang out more over the next week, from dinner with friends (on Valentines day of all days) where Viktor would show his generosity, and then a couple days later dancing (where you would see his athletic ability). In the end, it was the dancing that flipped the switch for Rachel and it was that day she knew she liked him more than just a friend, when Viktor's question mark was answered. That was in 2021, and now they are getting married! I am SO excited to be there when these two get married, and I have no doubt that day will be a day filled with laughter, joy, and some incredible moments.
