The more I talk with the Griswold family, the more i’m convinced that we would be friends if we all had more time in life. The reason is simple, this family is awesome. They are kind, easy to talk to, quick to laugh, and have great taste. Their kids are beautiful, and look like mini versions of them. So being able to meet with them and. capture this beautiful family is a huge honor, and being able to share some of my favorites is as well.
Read MoreThis particular trip was something I had been looking forward to for a while. My wife and I had set aside the time months and months in advance, and I was so excited to take her and my youngest son to Rainier for the first time. As we got closer and closer to the date, however, the weather started to look more and more sketchy - and sketchy it was. The day we arrived it was pouring rain. So we setup our tent (From DOD Outdoors) in the rain, then got all our bedding setup inside. It was about 37 degrees - in August.
Read MoreLast week I had the chance to go photograph some pretty amazing people. Ryan and Cassidy Bones, along with their friends Jake and Ashley. They are starting a thing called The Marriage Upgrade - you should check them out on Instagram. I had so much fun talking with them, joking, getting photos of them living life together. While i’m super excited to see what they do with the photos, here are just a couple of my favorites.
Read MoreThe Goodner family is awesome. They are a family i’ve had the chance to get to know over the last five or six years. They are kind, thoughtful, have awesome energy, really fun to talk to, genuine, and God loving people. They are people you can trust, laugh with, and enjoy the time you spend with them. So getting to photograph their family, their kids, the love Shane and Alyshea have for each other was such a huge privilege. It’s always one of my favorite things being able to take pictures of people I really like, and this was one of those times. I hope you love the photos as much as I loved taking them!
Read MoreIt was more than eight years ago that I first met the Hartzog family as I was getting ready to shoot Waylon and Arionne’s wedding. Since then i’ve had the privilege of being there for many other family photos, and it’s such a privilege they think of me every time they come in town. This family is a fun one, quick to laugh, easy to joke with, and just great to talk to. So this particular photo shoot, at the top of a mountain looking over the river and mountains near Sandpoint was a lot of fun for me. Beautiful spot, great people - all I could hope for.
Read MoreAbout 16 years ago I was trying to figure out how to pay for college. It was confusing, and I didn’t have a lot of help except for the financial aid person at the school I was trying to go to (Multnomah University). Now, if you know me, you know i’m not a particularly shy person so when I had a question I would call Mary up. This was so frequent she eventually had my number memorized, and would answer the phone with “hello Brent…” - good times.
