2019 Review: Some Favorite Sunset Wedding Photos from 2019

As a wedding photographer, i’m faced with a lot of challenges every wedding day. What type of lighting will we have for portraits, for the ceremony? What does the reception look like? Is there going to be a sunset, and if so, where will that take place? The thing is, not every venue has a great view of a sunset (some have mountains in the way) and others may end up with weather that prevents the sunset. So often we then need to ask, “is it still worth it?” For me, the answer is always yes.

Stepping away from your reception to take a couple extra photos around sunset is always worth it, rain, overcast, smoky, cloudy, clear, it doesn’t matter, the photos you get in that moment can sometimes be the best of your whole day. It often means you’re going to a new place, trying a new thing, or even going to a location that wouldn’t have looked good earlier in the day. So today i’m showcasing some of my favorite sunset photos taken from last year. You’ll note that not all of these have actual sunsets, or a sun in them at all - but that’s the point. Even though there was no sunset (or in some cases, there was a snowstorm) getting that amazing sunset wedding photo meant going out and just “going for it”. I hope you love these, as I certainly do.
