Coeur d'Alene Engagement: Brennan & Brooklon
If we want to get technical, Brooklon and Brennan met somewhere around third grade. They went to the same (small) school, and ulitmately had really just been around each other for a long time. But things don't always go the way you'd expect, and over time people start to notice each other in different ways.
For Brennan, it was sometime during his Junior year one of his friends pointed Brooklon out and how cute she was. This was the first time Brennan noticed Brooklon in a more distinct way. For Brooklon, it would be the next year, when after a game Brennan would send her a snap chat message and say "good game" to her. Now, at that time they basically never talked, so this was a fairly bold move for him. I asked Brennan if he was trying to hit on her or if it was completely innocent, and he told me he definitely was hitting on her.
This began their year of small talk and 20 second interactions. They were "friends" but really never spent time together. Over the course of the year Brooklon would notice him much more, but get frustrated that he wouldn't talk to her very much. On the other side, Brennan was trying to talk to her, but felt like he didn’t much to say, so he'd go long periods of time without saying anything (which would absolutely frustrate Brooklon, who had started to like him a bit).
In the end, the dance would stop when Brennan stepped up and asked her if she'd go out to ice cream with him. A date that went well in spite of the fact he would stare at the receipt and rub a coin on it for most of the date (he was nervous! What do you expect?) Either way, these two are so amazing together, and it's been since then that they have been dating. I absolutely loved taking their engagement photos, getting to know both of them better, and watching them interact. Quick to smile, easy laughs, and kind hearts.
