I feel like sometimes I’m a record on repeat. Because each time I get to see the same couple again, or the same family, I reflect on how great it is to see them. But it’s hard not to say it, because it’s so true. It’s an incredible honor to be asked to be at someones engagement, or their wedding, but in my mind I feel like that honor increases each year you see a family, each year those little kids grow into bigger kids. To watch a family grow, not just in size but also number, is something I absolutely love. That is 100% true of the Slovarp family.
Read MoreClint and Melissa are two people I have enjoyed visiting with from the very day I met them. Getting to photograph their engagement, their wedding, meeting all their friends and family there, and watching one of the biggest moments of their lives. But to then be asked a little later to photograph their maternity photos and family photos was such an incredible honor. So when Melissa told me her whole family was coming out and they wanted to get some more family photos, the idea they thought of me again was such a huge compliment. I’m so excited to share these family photos. What an incredible group of humans these people are.

It isn’t that we get to see beautiful places, or be an incredible moments - although I do love those things - rather it’s we get the chance to see families grow. I was there when Clint and Melissa were engaged, I had the chance to talk with them, laugh with them, share hiking stories and listen to how they got together. Then they were getting married (at Settlers Creek as well, which is such a beautiful place!) and I had the chance to be there when that relationship went from “let’s date” to “let’s be together forever”.
