I had the chance to meet Bella and Katie at a wedding I photographed several years ago at the Davenport Hotel in Spokane Washington (shout out to Chris and Sammy!) As was the case with that whole group, both Bella and Katie were excellent people to get to know, but kind and thoughtful, but also fun to laugh with. So when they contacted me and asked if I could photograph their wedding out near Mt. Rainier National Park I was pumped. Not just because I’d get the chance to see some friends again, but because it’s such a beautiful area to be in. So here are the photos, and I hope you love them as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Here’s what he had to say about his time with the Buckland. “Long laughs and great conversations, make spending time with this incredible family so worth it! I had the fantastic privilege of meeting the Buckland family for a family photoshoot at Lake Pend Oreille. When Tad and Audrey aren’t steadily hard at work, they love to soak up every moment of family time biking, hitting the winter slopes and everything else with their son Luke and family furry doodle companion, Braxton. Braxton’s love for attempting to “hug” every duck in sight made for the best addition to a great shoot! Hanging out with this family was a joyful and warming experience, experiencing the love they have for each other, never taking anything too seriously, their joyful attitudes, and how they soak up and enjoy every moment together. Easy laughs, tons of smiles, and lots of chasing ducks. (Braxton’s contribution).”
Read MoreI only met the Kernodle family last year when I had the chance to do their family photos. But since then I’ve seen them more than once and every time it’s the same - two people who are kind, thoughtful, easy to talk to and quick to laugh. So I was very much looking forward to capturing their family - always such an honor to be asked again - and I’m SO excited to be able to share these with you! This wasn’t a long photo shoot, but I am sure happy with what we got. I hope you love them!
Read MoreThere is something amazing about being a photographer. It isn’t that we get to see beautiful places, or be an incredible moments - although I do love those things - rather it’s we get the chance to see families grow. I was there when Clint and Melissa were engaged, I had the chance to talk with them, laugh with them, share hiking stories and listen to how they got together. Then they were getting married (at Settlers Creek as well, which is such a beautiful place!) and I had the chance to be there when that relationship went from “let’s date” to “let’s be together forever”.
Read MoreA little more than a year ago I had the huge privilege of taking pictures of an amazing couple at Settlers Creek. Clint and Melissa are two people who had an incredible wedding, with some great laughs, amazing people, and an awesome sunset. Fast forward some nine months and I get an email from Melissa telling me that her and Clint are expecting a baby, and they want me to capture not just their maternity photos - but also some family photos once the little one is born. So amazing! What an honor it is to be there for the engagement, the wedding, and now the beginning of a beautiful family.
Read MoreCord and Christy have been in the same circle for a long time, but they never really spoke. Cord was a friend of her brother in law (Shout out to the Hess's, one of the first weddings I ever had the privilege to shoot!) and so he was always "around" but Christy was often a little more focused on the other things going on to notice him. That changed one day when Christy's car broke down. She knew Cord was good with vehicles, so she asked Jon if he would ask him if he would help. He did, and in doing so it opened up the conversations. Cord told me he wasn't interested in Christy at the beginning because "he didn’t' have a chance" so he never even considered it.
