Bridal Portraits: Nick & Lourdes
The first time they meaningfully met was when they worked together in the Deli at a Yokes grocery store. I hear it's the hardest job in the entire grocery store. Anyway, Nick and Lourdes didn't hit it off right away, they did become friends though and really enjoyed working together. Lourdes told me that the first thing she thought about nick was that he was "kind of nerdy" which after talking with Nick, is actually a true sentiment. Anyway, these two become friends, and after about six months into their friendship they found themselves working a lot more shifts together. Lourdes eventually would catch Nick's eye and he would start to make moves - not that Lourdes really noticed.
When I asked her if he treated her any different, she said that they were still "just good friends" all the while Nick grinned at her a knowing grin. Because he actually had been doing some extra things for her, like helping her with extra things around the deli and so forth. Others noticed, and eventually one of their friends (Brittany, if I remember correctly) asked Nick if he liked Lourdes - and he said yes. It was that same day that Lourdes also talked to Brittany and told her that she "thinks she likes Nick" to which Brittany got big eyes and said "I have something I need to tell you"
And that's how is started. They would go on an (awkward) first date, and then a second. Then they would officially become boyfriend and girlfriend and now they are married! This shoot was a joy for me, not only because Nick and Lourdes are two amazing people, but also because I genuinely enjoyed talking with them. I'm glad I could spend a little extra time and capture some bridal portraits of them. What a truly great couple.
