Bryce and Monica are magnetic. And not just to each other (which they definitely are) but to others. They are so thoughtful in the way they talk and interact, they are fun and kind, I genuinely had a great time with them on the Washington Coast - which, can we just say, is a pretty awesome place to do engagement photos. The only thing I was bummed about in this situation is we had a completely overcast sky this day. That said, it meant we got some really soft light (which is beautiful) and no bright hot-spots. Now, I would normally tell you the little bits of the couples story in these blogs, and I do know that Bryce and Monica met in the military. The Infantry - if I remember correctly - where Monica was one of very few women in a branch of the military that has traditionally only allowed men.
Read MorePhotography is an interesting thing, it’s a super saturated market (everyone is a photographer) but at the same time there is a vast difference between the people at the top of the market and the people at the bottom. There are a lot of factors that separate them; style, knowledge, desire, jobs and talent. Everyone’s journey through that market, and where people stop has so many factors you can’t point to one. I have friends that loved photography and just lost interest, or got burnt out, or didn’t like the “business” side of things. A successful photographer often doesn’t just have one factor (such as a desire to take photos) but has multiple factors that contribute to their success,

While I don’t have my Lord of the Rings lore down as well as her (I’m personally a huge fan of The Wheel of Time) it was something we both loved. Then I met Adam, and he was also easy to get along with, and hearing their story during their engagement shoot was awesome and engaging. So I was very excited for their wedding, with the Lord of the Rings themed tables, dress, and even bouquets. I love how they went all in on the dress, decor, and Talus Rock really complimented the whole thing. Top it all off with the incredible fall colors we got and man, what an incredible wedding. I’m so excited to share these with you, and I hope you love them!
Read MoreChris and Michelle are two amazing people. I’ve liked them every since we met, and that was reinforced when we did their engagement shoot on a freezing cold day last spring. They love each other, they have magnetic laughs and some great friends. This was shown over and over again to me during their beautiful wedding at the Historic Davenport. I am so excited to be able to share these with you, these moments, these people, these photos. It was a beautiful day, one to remember for a lifetime.
Read MoreIt’s not every day, or even every year, you go to a wedding that has two ceremonies. In fact, I believe that’s only happened to me once before, and even then they were on different days. Well Dylan and Sam put that all aside and said “let’s do both!” And so we had a day with multiple dresses, changes, portraits when we could, two ceremonies, great toasts and incredible people. Dylan and Sam are two people that are so great to be around, so kind, and this translates to their friends and family as well. This wedding had so many great moments, I am so excited that I have the chance to share those with you.
Read MoreI had the chance to meet Bella and Katie at a wedding I photographed several years ago at the Davenport Hotel in Spokane Washington (shout out to Chris and Sammy!) As was the case with that whole group, both Bella and Katie were excellent people to get to know, but kind and thoughtful, but also fun to laugh with. So when they contacted me and asked if I could photograph their wedding out near Mt. Rainier National Park I was pumped. Not just because I’d get the chance to see some friends again, but because it’s such a beautiful area to be in. So here are the photos, and I hope you love them as much as I enjoyed taking them.
