Coeur d'Alene Photographer: The Surprise Morning Engagement
Several months ago I got a phone call. I thought it was one of those Robo Calls that we all love so much. The number was from someone in Atlanta, but I try to answer my phone as much as I can, so I took it. Turns out, it was a real human on the other end, and his name was Brian. He told me he was looking to propose to his girlfriend when he was out in Coeur d’Alene, and wanted to know if I knew of any good places.
There were several hurdles, easy to get to, beautiful, and a reason to go there. After discussing it with him, I made some recommendations and we said bye. I didn’t know if he’d ask me to photograph it or not, but I was happy to help - if you know Brian, you know how kind he is. So a month or two go by and he ends up calling me again with a plan, and wants to know if I can photograph his proposal at 5:40 am on the lake.
He had it all planned out. So I woke up before the sun had risen, drove out to the Coeur d’Alene Resort, and waited (I had to be there before them). Once they walked by, I had the chance to stalk around and wait for him to pop the question.
It was beautiful.
The color in the sky, the lake in the background, and the incredible moment. Beautiful and amazing. So I get to share that moment with you, from the “let’s take a selfie here while I try to stall” moment to the kneel down, to the “oh my gosh there is a photographer here” face as I approached. I loved it. I loved being a part of it, and i’m so excited for these two.
