North Idaho Winter Engagement: Trevor & Jackie
Trevor and Jackie hold a special place in my heart, because it was at a wedding I photographed (shout out to the amazing Nick and Brianna!) that they met. A couple years ago I photographed a wedding in Mexico for Nick and Brianna Shriner, and while I was there I met the very kind bridesmaid named Jackie, and the quite (at least, to me) but kind groomsman Trevor. That was it, that was my experience. What I didn't know was that just before the wedding the bridemaids were telling Jackie all about the "cute single groomsman" named Trevor, and how because they were all taken, she would have to go for him.
Trevor, in contrast was told many times about the "hot bridesmaid" Jackie, and that he should go for her. Well, it turns they both hit it off right away! While they didn't talk much at the welcome party, it was over the course of the day that they started talking more and more, culminating in them dancing together a lot at the wedding. The next day the two would seek each other out, and they would hang out all day - with their friends as well, until they finally broke off from them toward the end of the night. They would take a walk on the beach, talk and just spend time together.
In so many ways, it reminds me of a movie, knowing how great Sayulita Mexico is. These two really started liking each other. It was the next day (their last day) that they would then spend all day together, and end up falling asleep outside under the stars. They would share a very small peck of a kiss, and then fly home. In a very real way, their relationship started under a moon in Mexico.
And really, while their friendship would grow, and they would begin to date and of course get engaged, it all started in Mexico, at a wedding, and I think that's incredible. I can not wait to be there for their wedding day!
