The first time these two "met" was when Brandt was riding a chariot (home made and pulled by his roomamte) across a football field. I had to put "met" in quotes, because it wasn't all that much of a true meeting. They started to know of each other's existence is perhaps a better way to put it. Brandt would ask his friend to tell Shayna hello, and they would try and flirt through said friend until she said "talk to her yourself!" and they would start talking over Snapchat.

A couple years ago I photographed a wedding in Mexico for Nick and Brianna Shriner, and while I was there I met the very kind bridesmaid named Jackie, and the quite (at least, to me) but kind groomsman Trevor. That was it, that was my experience. What I didn't know was that just before the wedding the bridemaids were telling Jackie all about the "cute single groomsman" named Trevor, and how because they were all taken, she would have to go for him.

Katie had never been out here though before they met, and when we did this engagement shoot this was one of the first times she had ever been in the area. There were a lot of things that stood out to me about this experience for her. One of them was how kind the people are up here in the Northwest. For one of the photos below (them sitting on a bench with just the water behind them), there were some girls sun bathing in the way. I may have been able to make the shot work with them in there, but instead they looked up and said “do you want us to move?!” - such a kind question.

I asked him why he sat next to her, if it was because he thought she was cute or not, and he said "psh, absolutely!" - Rob had his eye on Shianne from day one.

You see, Eric was new to the area, and he was trying to meet new people, so this party (a mutual friend invited them both) was a great place for that. Amber said she noticed Eric right away, not just because he walked up and introduced himself, but also how he did it. He was calm, confident, and ready to talk.
