Sometimes I think I sound like a broken record, but the problem is it’s true every year. Every year someone who hired me last year, and hires me again to take photos of their family is something that truly honors me, something I see as one of the biggest compliments. You see, people’s families are a central part of who they are, and for many, it is the single more important thing to them in the world. So to. be told “I want you to photograph my family” is such an incredible honor.

And really, “Pavlin” is only a small portion of this beautiful family, but they were my main contact so that’s what I’m going with! Anyway, I’ve had the chance to get to know this whole family over the course of the last twelve years (which blows my mind) but much more so over the last seven or so. Chris and Bryanna are to people I consider friends, and love spending time with. It’s been a huge joy of mine to not only photograph their engagement out in Seattle, but also their wedding, and their family photos, and their other family photos, and their other family photos - I think you get the idea. It is insane to me to watch a family grow up, and it is such an incredible honor to be there at each amazing step.
Read MoreOver the last year i’ve had the chance to reflect a lot on my previous clients coming back to me to photograph their growing families, and how big of a compliment, an honor, that is. This is no more true than with this amazing family. It’s so amazingly cool to have been there when they were just dating, but also there when they got married, There when they adopted their oldest son, and then again being able to capture their newest daughter. To be there as their extended family grows, and see each child get older, smarter, and even remember me when I come back to take photos another year. I absolutely love this family, and i’m so excited and happy that I can share a couple of my favorites from this beautiful backyard photo shoot.

I could talk about the weddings i’ve photographed, or the drinks we’ve had, or the basketball i’ve played - with almost every single member of this family I have gotten to know from various things and i’ve loved every moment of it. They are kind, thoughtful, funny, and I genuinely enjoy spending time with them. So doing this was pretty great, getting to photograph their amazing family. I hope you love these. :)
