Farragut State Park Engagement: Ryan & Elizabeth

I think the best way to start off this blog is by making a statement. Dan is the man. Yeah. You see, a couple years before Ryan and Elizabeth ever met Dan started talking to Ryan about her, and also talking to Elizabeth's dad about Ryan. The first time Elizabeth heard of Ryan, it was roughly a year before they ever met - her dad was trying to get them together. I don't know about you, but I've never exactly had much faith that my parents would find the right one for me, I wanted to do that. Elizabeth must have thought something similar, because she didn't meet with Ryan.

Spokane Mountain Engagement: Shane & Whitney

Shane, Whitney and I had an incredible engagement session at the top of Mount Spokane. it was simultaneously everything I had hoped for, and nothing that I had wanted. We had fog, rain, wind, smoke and sun. We had fall colors, deep greens, dense forest and mountain views. What we didn’t get was access to the top of the mountain (which had closed a right before we had gone up) much to the dismay of both myself and Whitney, both of us really looking forward to the top of the mountain (although the wind would have been in the 40mph up there that day, it was crazy.

Spokane Engagement Photographer: Paul & Lela's Engagement

They met online. It wasn't one of those things where they both downloaded the app/created the profile and the first person they found was "the one". In fact, both Paul and Lela had some pretty bad experiences. It just wasn't what they hoped it would be. Well, a couple days before Lela deleted her profile she got a message from a dude named Paul. He didn't do the typical things like "Sup girl" or "hey." instead, he actually wrote a meaningful, thoughtful message to her. Unsurprisingly, it worked.

Spokane Engagement Photographer: Zach & Rachel's Farm Engagement

So many people have stories that start in school. Sometimes collage, sometimes high school, and even more rarely, middle school. Well this is where Zach and Rachel’s story starts. They were in Junior high together, and then high school. Zach was the “cool football player” (Rachel’s words) and she was the “emo” girl (her words as well, not his). Zach said his first real memory of her was in high school gym class, but their relationship, their friendship, started more in college when they had a lab together. They weren’t lab partners (stop thinking this is going to be a cliché story) rather, they partnered up every time they had a chance. Rachel thought Zach was pretty darn cute and did her best to keep conversations going and get him to notice her.

Anniversary Photos: Jack & Lauren

A little over a year ago Jack and Lauren got married at the Coeur d’Alene Resort. It was beautiful - one of my favorite weddings all year - from the smallest little details all the way to the bride, there was nothing that wasn’t awesome. I loved their wedding, it was fun, beautiful, and filled with amazing people. So when Lauren contacted me to see if I would be willing to photograph them again around their one year anniversary I was super excited. Their engagement photos were awesome, and i’ve always enjoyed just talking with them. It’s one of my favorite things, watching a couple go from unmarried, to married, to growing a life together. I’m looking forward to the next time I get to see these two - whether the lens is there or not.

Sandpoint Engagement Photographer: Eric & Amber's Sunset Engagement

When Eric first saw Amber, she was eye catching. It could have had something to do with the bikini she was wearing, or the fact that she is stunning, but he didn't hesitate to walk up to her and introduce himself. You see, Eric was new to the area, and he was trying to meet new people, so this party (a mutual friend invited them both) was a great place for that. Amber said she noticed Eric right away, not just because he walked up and introduced himself, but also how he did it. He was calm, confident, and ready to talk.
