I’m pumped to share the Potter family photos on the blog today, not only because they are an absolutely beautiful family, but because it’s one of the first family shoots done by my associate photographer, Dan. As I wasn’t there for the shoot, I don’t have much to say about them, so Dan decided to jump in. "The opportunity to interact & photograph Hillary and her family was an absolute joy to experience! The constant mix of family banter, great laughs and real joy they had together was infectious. They all traveled far to meet together and couldn’t have chosen a more beautiful place. From the oldest generation to the newest, you’d have a hard time telling them apart with their shared energetic spirits and the closeness of their family. The entire session was beautiful and an absolute honor that they chose me to capture these moments. I loved every moment & getting to know each of their stories."

Read MoreThe Opfar family is a family that reminds me of the family I grew up in. Three siblings who clearly love each other and a mom who makes it clear that family photos are non-negotiable. For us, this meant that while they were on vacation up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest I had the opportunity to capture this amazing growing family. Of course, this was the week it decided to rain almost every single day. So while we would have preferred the sun and warm tones, we got some rain and cool tones. That said, it didn’t slow down these guys, and we ended up with such an awesome family shoot. I absolutely loved meeting them and getting to know them a little bit more, and I’m so exited I have the privilege of showing off this amazing family.
Read MoreIt was maybe four or five years ago I met an incredible couple, they were kind, thoughtful and they wanted me to photograph their wedding. Jake and Nicole are those people, and i’ve never failed to walk away from my interactions with them without being impressed. I loved getting to know them at their engagement, and then meeting their amazing family and friends at their wedding, and so when Nicole reached out to me and asked me to photograph their new family of three I was super honored. Not only because they decided to use me again, but because they had trusted me with one of the most important things in life - family. I’m so excited to show off these photos, and I hope you love them as much as I do!
Read MoreWhen I arrived to photograph the Fischer family I thought I was taking pictures of a family coming from out of town (which was true) and who’s extended family lived in this area. This isn’t a totally uncommon situation for me. But boy was a surprised that the Whitney I had been emailing was actually the Whitney I knew from back in high school! With her last name change it wasn’t something I was aware of, but what an awesome surprise it was to see some old friends at this shoot and get caught up. Here are some of my favorites from this beautiful family shoot.
Read MoreOver the last year i’ve had the chance to reflect a lot on my previous clients coming back to me to photograph their growing families, and how big of a compliment, an honor, that is. This is no more true than with this amazing family. It’s so amazingly cool to have been there when they were just dating, but also there when they got married, There when they adopted their oldest son, and then again being able to capture their newest daughter. To be there as their extended family grows, and see each child get older, smarter, and even remember me when I come back to take photos another year. I absolutely love this family, and i’m so excited and happy that I can share a couple of my favorites from this beautiful backyard photo shoot.
