Eric and Amber told me they didn’t know what to expect from their wedding. As we all know, weddings in 2020 haven’t been super consistent, and the number of people showing up at a wedding can vary wildly. Last minute cancelations are common, and it’s really hard to know what to expect. I know I didn’t expect so many people at their wedding. It was beautiful, lots of friendly faces, lots of laughter, great dancing, and of course an amazing couple. This wedding was so much fun to photograph, and a lot of fun to edit. I hope you love the photos!
Read MoreGetting married in 2020 isn’t nearly as simple as it was in years past. There have been many added layers, complications, and things that brides need to think about. Kayla is no different. When the state of Washington changed the rules and made it so receptions could no longer take place, Kayla moved her reception to her sisters back yard. They cut the guest count for their ceremony by 75% (If I remember correctly) and everything had to change. One thing that didn't? Nick and Kayla. You see, something that’s so obvious for this year is that no matter what happens in the world, love still happens. People still move forward, still love each other. Nick and Kayla had an incredible wedding, filled with incredible people, beautiful moments, lots of laughter, and an unforgettable sunset (oh that sunset!). I hope you love these wedding photos and can share in the joy that this day brought to me, and all those who had the chance to be there.
Read MoreNathan and Juliana’s wedding was something special. Seriously - I go to a lot of weddings, but there was something incredible about their wedding. I think it was a culmination of things, booking them only a week before their wedding date is part of it (their photographer canceled on them because of COVID), as it meant I knew very little about the bride and groom going into the wedding. This meant that I was very pleasantly surprised to find both of them very kind and thoughtful, but quick to laugh, fun loving, and super easy to get along with. They are people that have magnetic personalities, and are clearly great people - inside and out.
Read MoreSomething that has become so common this year is weddings going from 200 guests to 30 guests (or less). The number of guests at every wedding i’ve photographed (save maybe a couple) has been drastically reduced, and actually, i’ve really loved it. It’s let me get to know the people that are at the wedding even more, and hasn’t really made the day feel all that much smaller. Look no further than Jacob & Allison’s wedding, where just before their wedding the state of Washington changed the rules and required all ceremony’s to be under 30 people.
Read MoreAlex and Julie are like so many other couples in 2020. They had their wedding, they had a plan, and then it all had to change. They had to examine their wedding guest list and see how they could get their total guest count at around 30 people. The whole thing changes how you view the day, it changes how the day flows. I had so much fun at their wedding, getting to meet some of the people that are closest to them, watching the greek ceremony (that was originally going to be inside, but because of circumstances it was allowed to be outside), and the great smiles on everyone’s faces. Alex and Julie had a beautiful wedding, a memorable one, and i’m so excited that I get to be the one to share these photos with you.
Read MoreJacob and Melissa are two people whom i’ve really enjoyed getting to know. Melissa (a photographer in her own right) has such a great joy for life - so quick to smile, so easy to talk with. Jacob matches her in this way, with a ready smile and easy manner. And truthfully, how could they not be that way when trying to plan a wedding in the middle of a pandemic? Where your venue says “you can’t do it here” and many guests can no longer make it? Jacob and Melissa, and their incredible families, are some amazing people. I loved getting to know them - watching them joke, and dance, and love. I’m excited to share this wedding with you, Jacob and Melissa’s wedding.
