When I arrived to photograph the Fischer family I thought I was taking pictures of a family coming from out of town (which was true) and who’s extended family lived in this area. This isn’t a totally uncommon situation for me. But boy was a surprised that the Whitney I had been emailing was actually the Whitney I knew from back in high school! With her last name change it wasn’t something I was aware of, but what an awesome surprise it was to see some old friends at this shoot and get caught up. Here are some of my favorites from this beautiful family shoot.
Read MoreOver the last year i’ve had the chance to reflect a lot on my previous clients coming back to me to photograph their growing families, and how big of a compliment, an honor, that is. This is no more true than with this amazing family. It’s so amazingly cool to have been there when they were just dating, but also there when they got married, There when they adopted their oldest son, and then again being able to capture their newest daughter. To be there as their extended family grows, and see each child get older, smarter, and even remember me when I come back to take photos another year. I absolutely love this family, and i’m so excited and happy that I can share a couple of my favorites from this beautiful backyard photo shoot.
Read MoreA couple years ago I had the huge privilege of taking Chris and Jennifer’s wedding photos. It was such a beautiful wedding, with some unique twists that i’ve never seen before (such as floating down the river in Tubes to their reception) and one that I fondly think of. So when Jennifer reached out to me and asked if I would be willing to come out to their town and take some pictures of them in their home-under-construction I was pumped. Not only because I enjoy talking with them, but because it’s a type of shoot i’ve never done before. We did some photos on their driveway and around the beautiful property, and then did some inside the house. What an amazing idea, and i’m so pumped I get to share these with you! I hope you love them.
Read MoreThis family is something special. Seriously, the Odeh family is one of those families I enjoy seeing, talking to, and laughing with. Going back to their engagement photos, their wedding, and the maternity photos I took with them before their first child was born, I have always enjoyed these two. So when I got an email from Caitlin asking me to capture some maternity photos before their second child came, I was so honored. It’s something i’ve been seeing more (my wedding clients growing families) and it’s hard not to be floored with appreciation. I get to be there, I get to see, not just the beginning, but the follow through. I get to see the incredible families that their wedding started - that was born from their commitment to each other. I absolutely love it. Here’s to the Odeh family, and everything they are, I couldn’t be happier for them.
Read MoreThe Roush family had the honor of doing family photos when it was about 15 degrees outside. Yes, it was quite cold. But, the benefit to that timing was we got some incredible, beautiful snow. Great winter outfits, and a lot of cold jokes. I truly enjoyed meeting this family, and i’m so excited I get to share the photos with you.
