This family of four is pretty special. Their two beautiful little girls were so quick to smile, easy to laugh (especially when mom was around) and I had so much fun talking with Ben and Rajona. It was easy to tell they cared not just about their family, but it felt like they cared about what I had going on as well. We couldn’t have asked for a better day, and I would be hard pressed to find a better family. I hope you love these family photos!
Read MoreSo many people have stories that start in school. Sometimes collage, sometimes high school, and even more rarely, middle school. Well this is where Zach and Rachel’s story starts. They were in Junior high together, and then high school. Zach was the “cool football player” (Rachel’s words) and she was the “emo” girl (her words as well, not his). Zach said his first real memory of her was in high school gym class, but their relationship, their friendship, started more in college when they had a lab together. They weren’t lab partners (stop thinking this is going to be a cliché story) rather, they partnered up every time they had a chance. Rachel thought Zach was pretty darn cute and did her best to keep conversations going and get him to notice her.

It was beautiful - one of my favorite weddings all year - from the smallest little details all the way to the bride, there was nothing that wasn’t awesome. I loved their wedding, it was fun, beautiful, and filled with amazing people. So when Lauren contacted me to see if I would be willing to photograph them again around their one year anniversary I was super excited. Their engagement photos were awesome, and i’ve always enjoyed just talking with them. It’s one of my favorite things, watching a couple go from unmarried, to married, to growing a life together. I’m looking forward to the next time I get to see these two - whether the lens is there or not.

She was one of the flower girls in my wedding, as crazy as that sounds to me now, as I look and see this beautiful and strong young woman. I loved taking her senior photos, taking the time to talk to her more, and see just how much she has grown up. It always blows my mind, and really, that’s one of the coolest things about senior photos, this is such a great time in a persons life. I’m pumped for Kayla, and it’s incredible how far she has come.

I’ve known them before they had a family of their own, and after, but one thing is clear - these two are such great parents. They clearly love their kids, and capturing that energy and love was something I so very much enjoyed. I can’t wait to watch this family grow old together, go through triumphs and trails, be happy and sad, and watch these two young amazing parents work through it all together.
