Most people don’t do sunrise hikes - or have ever done them. I’m telling you, you’re missing out. While I absolutely love sunset, and I love being at weddings, and getting to know people, and capturing the emotions of people in some of the best parts of their lives, I also love this. Nature. The warm glow of the sun just before it crests the horizon. There are moments up in the mountains that can feel surreal, and you can spend the whole time just looking out going “wow”. It’s not really something that can be put into words, just as emotion always seems to be lacking a word that truly fits it.
Read MoreI still remember meeting Peter and Calli for the first time - it was in the winter during a blizzard. It had maybe snowed 12 inches so far, and it was working really hard on getting to that 13th inch as fast as possible. Being that Peter and Calli were from out of town, moving the day was not really something we could do, plus they really wanted snow. Well snow they got, and we had an incredible memorable engagement shoot.
Read MoreThe other day I had the chance to head out to Airway Heights to photograph some of the fine people at Northwest Vision Institute. I don’t get to show off business headshots here very often, so I figured i’d take the time to do so here. We did a mix of photos, from some photos of the building, to some more casual, natural light photos, to some more traditional studio type photos. This is just a selection of some of my favorites. I hope you love them!
Read MoreI had the privilege of meeting the Wagstaff family several years ago when I photographed one of their siblings’ weddings. This family was awesome then, and i’m happy to say they still are! They are even one more than when I saw them last. This family is truly an incredible one, kind, with beautiful kids, and so much joy. This was a great family photo shoot, and i’m excited to share it!
Read MoreI think if I was trying to be technical about it, i’ve known Stephanie for basically her whole life - or, more accurately, i’ve known of her. You see, when I was in high school my friends Tony and Chris were in my class (Tony) or my brothers class (Chris). We played basketball together, ate lunch together, and were friends. I remember when their little sister was born, and was brought to those basketball games. So some 23 years later, when that little girl sent me an email to tell me she was getting married I was surprised and excited!
Read MoreA couple of years ago I had the chance to photograph Ella’s sister’s senior photos, so getting the chance to come back and take photos of Ella was a huge compliment. This shoot was a lot of fun too, from exploring a bit of their backyard (which is what I did with her sister) to heading downtown Coeur d’Alene (which I didn’t do) was great for variety’s sake. Not to mention we ended up with such an incredible day weather wise. This photo shoot was a lot of fun, and I absolutely loved getting to know Ella along the way.
