So many people have stories that start in school. Sometimes collage, sometimes high school, and even more rarely, middle school. Well this is where Zach and Rachel’s story starts. They were in Junior high together, and then high school. Zach was the “cool football player” (Rachel’s words) and she was the “emo” girl (her words as well, not his). Zach said his first real memory of her was in high school gym class, but their relationship, their friendship, started more in college when they had a lab together. They weren’t lab partners (stop thinking this is going to be a cliché story) rather, they partnered up every time they had a chance. Rachel thought Zach was pretty darn cute and did her best to keep conversations going and get him to notice her.
Read MoreA little over a year ago Jack and Lauren got married at the Coeur d’Alene Resort. It was beautiful - one of my favorite weddings all year - from the smallest little details all the way to the bride, there was nothing that wasn’t awesome. I loved their wedding, it was fun, beautiful, and filled with amazing people. So when Lauren contacted me to see if I would be willing to photograph them again around their one year anniversary I was super excited. Their engagement photos were awesome, and i’ve always enjoyed just talking with them. It’s one of my favorite things, watching a couple go from unmarried, to married, to growing a life together. I’m looking forward to the next time I get to see these two - whether the lens is there or not.

Read MoreKayla is someone i’ve known for over ten years now, and the reason is simple, she’s my niece. She was one of the flower girls in my wedding, as crazy as that sounds to me now, as I look and see this beautiful and strong young woman. I loved taking her senior photos, taking the time to talk to her more, and see just how much she has grown up. It always blows my mind, and really, that’s one of the coolest things about senior photos, this is such a great time in a persons life. I’m pumped for Kayla, and it’s incredible how far she has come.
Read MoreCorey and Katie are two people i’ve known for a long time. They are kind, quick to smile, super easy to get along with, and I find myself smiling every time I see them. I’ve known them before they had a family of their own, and after, but one thing is clear - these two are such great parents. They clearly love their kids, and capturing that energy and love was something I so very much enjoyed. I can’t wait to watch this family grow old together, go through triumphs and trails, be happy and sad, and watch these two young amazing parents work through it all together. Until then, here are some photos of them at this stage in life, and what an amazing stage it is.
Read MoreGetting married in 2020 isn’t nearly as simple as it was in years past. There have been many added layers, complications, and things that brides need to think about. Kayla is no different. When the state of Washington changed the rules and made it so receptions could no longer take place, Kayla moved her reception to her sisters back yard. They cut the guest count for their ceremony by 75% (If I remember correctly) and everything had to change. One thing that didn't? Nick and Kayla. You see, something that’s so obvious for this year is that no matter what happens in the world, love still happens. People still move forward, still love each other. Nick and Kayla had an incredible wedding, filled with incredible people, beautiful moments, lots of laughter, and an unforgettable sunset (oh that sunset!). I hope you love these wedding photos and can share in the joy that this day brought to me, and all those who had the chance to be there.
