Less than a year ago I met Alex and Julie as we climbed a mountain for their engagement photos. That was followed a couple months later with their beautiful wedding on Coeur d’Alene lake at the Hagadone Event Center. So when I was contacted about 5 months after the wedding and told that Julie and Alex were expecting, I was pumped! It’s always so awesome to be a part of special moments in couples lives, and it’s an even larger honor to continue to be a part of those moments. Alex and Julie are going to be amazing parents, and I enjoyed exploring with them again.
Read MoreThe more couples I meet the more I see that there is no "normal" way to meet people anymore. Well, kind of, as meeting online is probably the most popular way for a couple to meet. This is exactly how Colton and Madison met for the first time. They both swiped right. However, neither of them had ever met someone online before, so they didn't meet right away. In fact, it took months for them to decide to "go for it". If I remember the first place they met was at a Mexican restaurant.
Read MoreThey met in school. Both of them were training to be radiology tech's, and Rob saw a beautiful girl sitting in the class with an open seat next to her. So, being the charismatic, kind guy he is, he went and sat next to her. I asked him why he sat next to her, if it was because he thought she was cute or not, and he said "psh, absolutely!" - Rob had his eye on Shianne from day one.
Read MoreNathan and Whitney are two amazing people. People who I got to know a little bit more during their engagement shoot, but people who - in meeting their friends and family - continued to impress me. Not just with their energy and kindness, but also with their depth and generosity. These two light up the places they go to, they are kind and thoughtful, they are fun and quick to smile, and boy do they love each other. What an honor it was for me to capture these two on their wedding day. I hope you love the photos below, I certainly enjoyed taking them.
Read MoreAly and David asked me to come out to the Hills Resort on Priest Lake for their simple winter wedding late last month. It was beautiful. The day before we got a fresh six inches of snow that covered all the trees and ground, giving us a beautiful blanket of white snow. The couple themselves were so kind, and I loved meeting their families. I love these small, simple weddings that have become more and more common over the last year, and I hope I get the chance to do more of them. Less people, but more time to spend with those people. It was an amazing wedding with great people at a beautiful location.
Read MoreThey met in high school, freshman year. The thing about both Michael and Malinda that I found out during our shoot is they are both driven - they both work hard and are prepared people. What does this have to do with freshman year of high school? It means Malinda was taking 9 classes to everyone’s regular 8. It also means she had a huge pile of books in her hands as she walked to class. Michael, being the kind guy he is - and also thinking Malinda was pretty darn cute - asked her if she needed help. What a better way to start talking to the cute girl in class than to start out by being a gentleman?
