I met JD and Kara a couple years ago at another wedding (Kara was the maid of honor). That wedding was a blast, and we had so much fun. So when Kara asked me to be at her wedding, I knew it was going to be a blast. Now, this summer isn’t quite what I expected (or anyone else) and so there were a lot of unknowns as we got closer and closer to July 4. But, true to their personalities, JD & Kara made something amazing happen. They had an incredible wedding, in an incredible place, with some truly amazing people - in the middle of a pandemic. The whole wedding was beautiful, touching, and filled with emotion and great moments. The fact I could be there, to capture it all, can only be thought of as a privilege. Now I get to share some of my favorite photos from this Big Sky wedding with you, and I hope you love them.
Read MoreThey met in Costa Rica. They were there for some coaching and ended up in the same group. They were going through a rapid fire question exercise when Mike noticed Misty - truthfully, she’s hard to miss with those incredibly stunning blue eyes. Mike told me it was like they were “staring into his soul”. This began their friendship - yeah. Their friendship.
Read MoreAs a wedding photographer, i’m faced with a lot of challenges every wedding day. What type of lighting will we have for portraits, for the ceremony? What does the reception look like? Is there going to be a sunset, and if so, where will that take place? The thing is, not every venue has a great view of a sunset (some have mountains in the way) and others may end up with weather that prevents the sunset. So often we then need to ask, “is it still worth it?” For me, the answer is always yes.
Read MoreAbout a month ago I got a phone call. The kind person on the other end told me that you guys voted me the best photographer in the area. I haven’t been able to share this information until recently, and i’m so pumped to be able to share it with you now. Last year was something special, and it was each one of you wonderful people that made it that way.
Read MoreYeah, you read that right, i’m publishing a 2018 wedding season review in 2020. Nice. What the heck is happening here, you may ask? It’s a good question. The thing is, 2019 is a beast in it’s own right, and I can’t wait to share the photos I took last year with you. Because 2019 was such a blessing, and had so many weddings I never had the chance to post this one in 2019. So I wanted to share the photos I took from 2018, because that was an awesome year, with incredible moments, and beautiful locations, and amazing couples. So here is a very small selection of my favorite photos from 2018.
Read MoreDave and Melissa are two people that are charismatic, loving, kind, and so fun to talk to. Going into their wedding day I hadn’t met either of them, and over the course of the day, getting to know them, talking with them, watching them laugh and joke was a huge privilege. So often we get to see what people are like, what makes them ‘tick” when you see them with their friends and family, and I believe this is true. The thing is, Dave and Melissa have some amazing friends and family, people we also enjoyed talking with and getting to know. Their beautiful Catholic wedding in Post Falls, ID followed by their incredible reception at the Davenport Hotel downtown Spokane was something i’ll remember for a long time. I’m excited to share these photos with you, and hope you also love them. :)
